Established in 2010, the community garden has provided an opportunity for people in our congregation and in the community to come together through the raising and harvesting of food.
The garden is located on the west side of the church property. There were 32 plots our first year, each 15x15 feet. The garden is fenced and irrigated. Through the work of committed volunteers, it has quickly developed into a rich, fertile spot for growing everything from tomatoes to corn to flowers.
We expanded the garden for the 2011 growing season to 64 plots! We also have several compost bins along with a sink to wash off any produce you may have picked. We hope to have a shed and tools soon.
Contact our Mission Coordinator, Sharolyn Peterson, for more information on how you can be involved in this fruitful endeavor.
*Reservations will be taken soon for the 2012 growing season.
Watch for more details to come.
