Our youth ministry is focused on
students in grades 7-12. Youth are
encouraged to fully participate in the life of the congregation, as well as
have the opportunity for fellowship with kids their own age.
Sunday mornings offer opportunities for junior high Bible study and senior high volunteering.
Youth are encouraged to sign up as
worship assistants, and to help serve the congregation at special events.
Wednesday evenings include a supper at church, confirmation classes, a special alternative worship service, and senior high hangouts.
The HangarSenior High Hangout takes place in our youth room, and occasionally includes trips out to go bowling, go to the movies, special service projects, etc.
In the spring, the youth room also welcomes junior high youth for a special hangout time of their own.
Kids play games like Wii, beanbags, board games and cards, or watch movies or listen to music.
Special annual events include snowtubing, skiing, Valleyfair, Mall of America, Sonshine Festival, Synod Lock-In, etc.
BIG trips: Grades 7-9 get to go to Camp House each summer, and grades 9-12 get a chance annually to go on various mission trips or to the National Youth Gathering sponsored by the ELCA.
Youth have the opportunity to work at fund raising events throughout the year in order to earn money to help them pay for these special outings and for mission trips.
